Child sex assault: Fat man still sought

POLICE are still hunting for a man who sexually assaulted a two-year-old in Bromley Cross.

Bolton Council has alerted all schools in the borough about the attack, which happened on April 17, at about 3.50pm, at the junction of Smith Lane and Darwen Road.

A mother was standing with her children, waiting to cross the road. She was talking to her son, but turned around to see a man who was “inappropriately touching” her daughter’s leg. When she challenged him, he moved his hand away and fled. Police have received a number of leads, which they are following up.

The man is described as white, of heavy build and with a large belly. He has shoulder-length grey hair and grey stubble. He appeared dirty and unkempt, and was wearing a dark zip-up jacket which looked too small for him, and navy blue jogging bottoms.

Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 5761 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
