Heatherwood Hospital governor suspended after child sexual assault charge

A Governor of Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospital Trust has been suspended after he was charged with assaulting a girl under 13.

Samuel Hagan, 68, of Calfridus Way, had been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a five-year-old girl in the Parks Estate on Monday, May 6.

Penny Coventry, trust spokeswoman, said: “We are aware that Mr Hagan was charged and was due to appear in court.

“Mr Hagan has been suspended from his position as governor without prejudice.

“We have no further comment to make.”

Mr Hagan has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on Monday, May 20.
