A FORMER baptist minister admitted a child sex abuse charge.
David McFeeters, 70, of Rosebay Avenue, Billericay, admitted sexually assaulting a young girl on the Scottish isle of Benbecula between August 2003 and August 2006.
He appeared at Stranraer Court, in Scotland, yesterday, to admit the charge, but he denied separate charges relating to a sex assault on a 12-year-old girl, which was accepted.
The court heard McFeeters came to the attention of police after his wife died in 2011.
Sheriff Kenneth Robb deferred sentence while background reports were prepared.
McFeeters was remanded in custody until August when he will return to the court for sentence. He has also been placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
