Norfolk chief constable Simon Bailey
Norfolk’s chief constable has urged victims of child sexual exploitation to have the confidence to contact police and help “bring that abuse to an end”.
Simon Bailey, the national policing lead for child sexual exploitation, was speaking at a child sexual exploitation conference held in the city yesterday.
The conference, organised by the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Board, was held at the Mercure Hotel, Boundary Road, Norwich between 9am and 4pm.
The conference featured a performance of the drama production Chelsea’s Choice – a hard-hitting dramatisation which is being taken around high schools in the county to highlight the problem of child sexual exploitation.
Members of the Norwich-based Magdalene Group also attended the conference to discuss the Rose Project which reaches out to sexually exploited children.
