A paedophile from Faversham who admitted raping a child and possessing child abuse images has been jailed for 14 years.
Keith Vincent Livermore, of Colegates Court, Oare, pleaded guilty to two counts of raping a girl under 13, four counts of sexual assaults of a girl under 13 and several counts of making and possessing indecent images and movies of children.
The rape and sexual assault offences were against two girls aged between three and 10 years old and took place between January 2011 and February 2013.
Supervising officer, Detective Sergeant James Evans, called it a harrowing case.
“It involved a horrendous abuse of trust,” he said.
“Livermore committed several premeditated assaults and gave no thought for the impact his actions would have on his victims, who may never come to terms with what he has done.”
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Pat Preece, added: “My thoughts are with the victims and I hope sentencing will be the first step towards recovery for them.
“Livermore was arrested in February and convicted before the courts just four months later – a quick turnaround that goes to show how hard our Public Protection Unit works to build a case in order to get maximum justice for victims.”
