Lady Gaga implies she was sexually abused

Published December 3, 2014 by misty534

Lady Gaga appeared on “The Howard Stern Show” Tuesday morning, where she revealed that she was raped when she was 19.

The revelation surfaced while Stern and Gaga were discussing the controversy that arose at the SXSW music festival in March, when performance artist Millie Brown vomited neon green paint all over Gaga during her show, while she was singing her single “Swine.”

Howard asked Gaga what she thought of the controversy, and Gaga explained the message behind the planned performance art incident.

“I wrote a song called ‘Swine.’ The song is about rape. The song is about demoralization. The song is about rage and fury and passion, and I had a lot of pain that I wanted to release,” she explained.

Gaga continued, “I said to myself, ‘I want to sing this song while I’m ripping hard on a drum kit, and then I want to get on a mechanical bull, which is probably one of the most demoralizing things that you can put a female on in her underwear, and I want this chick to throw up on me in front of the world so that I can tell them, ‘You know what? You could never, ever degrade me as much as I could degrade myself,’ and look how beautiful it is when I do,'”

While Gaga only made passing references to past trauma, Stern pushed the issue, asking, “Were you raped by a record producer?”

After Gaga’s initial hesitation to discuss the topic, the “ARTPOP” singer opened up to Stern, saying, “I went through some horrific things, and I’m able to laugh now, because I’ve gone through a lot of mental and physical therapy and emotional therapy to heal over the years. My music’s been wonderful for me. But, you know, I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself. To be fair, I was about 19. I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, ‘Oh, is this just the way adults are?'”

Gaga went on to reveal that the full effects of her trauma weren’t felt until years later.

“It didn’t affect me as much right after as it did about four or five years later. It hit me so hard. I was so traumatized by it that I was like, ‘Just keep going.’ Because I just had to get out of there,” she said.

Gaga also added that she wasn’t willing to discuss the event in the past because she didn’t want to let it define her or her music.

“I’ll be damned if somebody’s gonna say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one dickhead who did that to me,” she said. “I’m going to take responsibility for all my pain looking beautiful. All the things that I’ve made out of my strife, I did that.”

Hours after the interview, lawyer Mark Geragos – who is representing pop singer Kesha in her lawsuit against music producer Dr.Luke for alleged sexual and verbal abuse – tweeted a link to a story about Gaga’s comments, along with, “Guess who the rapists was?”

Garagos later retweeted a Twitter user’s question, “Are you insinuating someone that Kesha fans would know of?” To which he added, “#ohyes,” and later tweeted, “#namethepervert.”

When someone later guessed, “Lukasz,” Geragos retweeted the guess, adding, “#bingo.”

Representatives for Dr. Luke, born Lukasz Gottwald, have denied Geragos’ accusations outright, releasing a statement to E! News, saying, “Luke met Lady Gaga twice for less than half an hour total in those two meetings combined. He has never been alone with her and never touched her. Neither meeting was in that time frame reported.”

Lady Gaga’s publicist also denied Garagos’ claims, saying, “This ridiculous, manufactured link between Lady Gaga and the Kesha-Dr. Luke lawsuit is utterly incomprehensible. This simply isn’t true and how dare someone take advantage of such a sensitive matter.”

Plymouth teenager Brenan Grenney faces jail for raping schoolgirl

Published March 21, 2013 by misty534

A TEENAGER who raped a terrified schoolgirl after an evening of booze and drugs is today finally behind bars.

Brenan Grenney, aged 19, claimed he could not remember attacking the youngster because of the binge.

  1. BEHIND BARS: Brenan Grenney

The jury at a previous trial failed to reach a verdict and the victim was forced to endure a retrial.

But yesterday a new jury at Plymouth Crown Court saw through Grenney’s lies and convicted him of rape.

Judge Paul Darlow remanded him in custody for a probation officer to prepare a report on his background. He told him: “A sentence of custody is merely inevitable.”

The officer in the case said after the verdict that the victim had been in “limbo” since she was attacked more than 18 months ago.

Detective Constable Simon Rawlinson, of the Sexual Offences Investigation Team, said: “This result has been a long time coming. She has finally received justice and can move on with her life.

“With this result and the support of the police sexual liaison officer, PC Anni Parr, and counselling from Twelves Company, she and her family finally have closure on this part of her life.”

The brave young victim had faced the trauma of giving evidence at two trials after the first jury failed to agree its verdict earlier this month.

A second jury of nine men and three women took about two hours and 20 minutes to unanimously convict Grenney.

The smartly-dressed defendant barely reacted as the foreman announced he was guilty.

He had denied rape but pleaded guilty to the alternative charge of sexual activity with a child under the age of 16.

Grenney, of Embankment Road, was remanded in custody until April 26.

He had refused to take to the stand and no evidence was called on his behalf.

But the jury heard he told police in interview that the night of August 16, 2011, was a “bit of a blank”.

The court heard he had lost three to four hours of his memory between drinking and smoking cannabis in a park to waking up in a city flat after the incident.

But the victim told the court he seemed only “tipsy” that night, when the British Fireworks Championships were taking place.

The schoolgirl wiped away the tears as she answered questions over a live videolink.

She had told police that she was “constantly screaming no” as Grenney made sexual advances.

She said Grenney had locked the door of the city home where they were alone.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said that Grenney held his arm over her mouth and hit her once during a half-hour ordeal.

Rapist found guilty of preying on teenagers

A man in his 50s who sexually assaulted four teenage girls was convicted at Reading Crown Court today.

After nearly four days of deliberating, a jury found Brian Austin, of Kingsley Close, Whitley Wood, guilty on eight counts of sexual offences.

These were two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, two counts of indecent assault, two counts of causing a child to engage in a sexual activity and one count of sexual activity with a child. The offences took place between 1999 and 2005.

During the trial, which started on November 20, the jury heard evidence from four women victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons. They were all from the Reading area and aged 14 and 15 when the attacks took place. Allison Hunter, prosecuting, pointed out during the trial that all the girls were able to describe the same sequence of events.

Austin, 59, invited one 14-year-old victim to his bungalow, where he appeared to have a telephone conversation with a man called Bob, and then propositioned her.

The victim said: “He said if I pretended to be his wife we could make this money and if we were realistic enough we could get a flat screen TV, MP3 player, a mobile phone and a DVD player and I thought ‘ok yeah, wicked

Austin told her they would have to pretend to have sex in his bedroom and a friend of Bob’s would look through the window and, if it was convincing enough, she would get the money and gifts.

The victim said Austin took off his false leg, which he had used since losing his leg in a motorbike accident, and stripped off. She said he then had sex with her and carried out other sex acts on her.

The woman said: “He was such a big bloke I didn’t want to do anything to make the situation worse.

“I would rather him do that than hit me. I didn’t say anything to him, I was in so much shock I just froze.”

Another victim told a similar account of how during a driving lesson with Austin he mentioned a friend and a chance of making some money.

She said: “He said a man wanted to watch us pretend to have sex through the window and would give us money.”

After he raped her the victim said Austin didn’t say anything, he just reattached his false leg and got dressed.

Austin, who was on conditional bail during the trial, has been remanded in custody until sentencing on Friday, February 22.
